What we cover

About Jana

A former English teacher, doula & course leader

I'm Jana Friedrichs – doula and course leader for birth preparation and hypnobirthing in Konstanz and Allensbach. Before this, I worked as an English teacher, so teaching in English feels completely natural to me.

I teach in a clear, down-to-earth way, with plenty of calm and body awareness woven in – grounded in evidence, always warm. I'm not a midwife and don't replace medical care; I'm here to prepare and support you.

More about me

Doula support

If you'd like more support after the course, I can be your doula too – with personal preparation and on-call support through your birth.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is the course really held in English?

Yes. I'm a former English teacher, so the whole course happens naturally in English – explanations, materials, and every conversation we have. You don't need to speak any German to take part.

Can I take the course 1:1 or does it have to be a group?

Both are possible. You can book individual 1:1 sessions at your own pace, or join a small group once enough people have registered. Just let me know which you'd prefer.

Can my partner join?

Yes, your partner is warmly welcome. In the group course one part is reserved for both of you; in 1:1 sessions your partner can join whenever it suits you.

I don't speak German well – is that a problem for the birth?

Not at all. A big part of the course is helping you feel prepared and confident about communicating your wishes – including practical phrases and a birth plan you can share with your clinic or midwife.

Where does the course take place?

In Konstanz (exact address shared after registration) or in Allensbach on Lake Constance. For 1:1 preparation I can also come to you or we can meet online.

What does it cost and when do we start?

Because the English course runs on request, we'll work out dates and pricing together depending on whether you choose 1:1 or a small group. Send me a short message and I'll get back to you with the details.
